Fool's Gould: The UK Ambassador to Israel ate crow after his settlement "scoop" proved erroneous

UK Ambassador Matthew Gould evidently thought he could improve his "Israel critic" credentials by expressing righteous indignation on Tuesday at what he believed was a new building project in -- gasp! -- Jerusalem.  Unfortunately for him, his censure of the Jewish State for building new homes in its capital prove a bit embarrassing after it turned out that no new plans had been announced and no new tenders issued. Oh well.

That didn't stop France, a day later, from chiming in with more condemnation of the non-existing new building, even after the farce had been exposed). It all served to show how Israel is condemned, no matter what it does, or doesn't do, facts notwithstanding. Israel can only do wrong – even when it does nothing.

Gould waxed wroth when he wrongly thought the wily Jews were building again: “This is unhelpful and a disappointment to those who want to see the sides turn a corner.” This, he whined, “took the shine off” that day’s Amman meeting, which he portrayed as a great breakthrough to restart negotiations. And the Jordanians couldn't help chiming that the timing “is a slap in the face to Jordan.”

Gould, himself a Jew who has come under fire in the UK Parliament for calling himself a Zionist, can point to an Israeli left-wing NGO,  Ir Amim, which incorrectly claimed the scoop on the not-so-new news.  No matter, Ir Amin will keep benefiting from generous contributions to its coffers from Britain and the EU so that it can keep providing more fake scoops of anti-Israel, foreign-funded feces for the foreign services of the EU to shovel into the mouths of the multitudes happy and hungry to consume this kind of crap.

Gould evidently had no hesitation accepting this unverified “revelation” as gospel Truth. Although the erstwhile self-proclaimed Zionist (at least so proclaimed when addressing Jewish audiences) hotly denied any anti-Israel bias in London and other capitals of Eurabia, his eagerness to chastise Israel suggests that British arrogance and superciliousness, even when emanating from court Jews in Her Majesty's foreign service, is apparently either a genetic vestige or an historical habit that has lingered on even after any objective justification for the Britanic sense of superiority has gone the way of the Titanic.

As the UK turns ever-more Muslim, with another year of Mohammed being the most popular British baby name, effete purse-lipped pseudo-intellectuals like the Semitic Ambassador, who shoots from the hip and then asks questions later, are likely to prove but a passing fad till the dhimmis are replaced by the real thing, with the sun setting on the Empire to the tune of a muezzin's mourning prayer. Then will the Star and Crescent, heralding Sharia, replace the Union Jack as it rises over the jaded jackals overseeing the final demise of the United Kingdom as it once was.
