Report: Adelson may shift support to Romney, give more than the $5 milllion donated to Gingrich

Jewish-American casino magnate Sheldon Adelson may shift his support from Newt Gingrich to Mitt Romney in the race for the White House, according to a report published over the weekend in the New York Times. Adelson, the world's 16th wealthiest person, and his wife Miriam donated $10 million last month to Winning our Future, the pro-Gingrich super PAC. Much of this was apparently used to fund an aggressive anti-Romney publicity campaign.

According to the New York Times report, however, several Adelson associates believe the billionaire would be willing to give even more to Romney, should he eventually emerge as the Republican nominee against U.S. President Barack Obama.
